IMPORTANT starfish updates

Starfish Update

• Early Release tomorrow-Dismissal at 12:50.
• We are excited to be back together today at school.  Due to the snow days, we are scheduled to celebrate our 100^th day of school on Monday, February 9^th.

 

• Outside Recess Update: The snow banks are waist deep. Please dress your child appropriately with snow gear for tomorrow.  Sometimes the kids like to have an extra pair of socks to change into after recess.

 

Homework Update

• Extension: Please have your child bring their 100^th day poster by Friday, February 6^th.  If your child has already completed the poster, please feel free to bring it to school.
• No homework folder will be sent home this week. We are continuing with our current sort and word patterns from last week.  With the inconsistent schedule and many absences last week, I would like to practice more this week and have a final practice on Friday.
   
• Please have your child bring their 100^th day snack (100 food items) to school on Monday, February 9^th.  (Examples could be goldfish, raisins, grapes, etc.)
   
• We will be making Valentine Mailboxes next week.  Please bring in one milk or juice carton on Monday, February 9^th. 

Our classroom will be turning into a Valentine's Card Shop on Tuesday, February 10 in the afternoon.  Please send your child with $1 in coins (ONLY Pennies, nickels, and dimes) in a labeled plastic baggie.  The children will practice money exchanges while buying materials for their valentine's cards for their family.  

The money collected by the 1st grade classrooms from the card shop will be donated to NHSPCA. 

• We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on Friday, February 13^th.  Please bring in class valentines for each child by Thursday, February 12^th.
