The eggsperiment part one

The kids are so excited to start our next experiment. February is dental health month so we decided to learn about the difference between healthy liquids and less healthy liquids for our teeth. We used white eggs and placed them in cherry kool-aid, water, 1% milk, and coca cola. The kids were excited to make predictions about the white eggs in the liquids. After about an hour, we pulled each egg to see what had happened. After observing the eggs and recording in our science journals, we were left wondering questions about other liquids. Tomorrow the kids want to see white eggs in Orange juice and orange soda. They also are interested to observe the difference between white and chocolate milk. The kids will also use tooth brushes and toothpaste to brush the eggshells to see how toothpaste and brushing affects our teeth.

The kids are excited to try this experiment or as we like to call it 'eggsperiment' at home with other liquids! We are excited for tomorrow for part 2.

We tried using pens in our science journals today. Scientists never erase in their science journals!

Starfish pictures

Ms. Rochford became an aunt for the 1st time on Saturday morning! Avery Claire came just in time for the Super Bowl Sunday!

Brock is the Starfish of the week!

The Starfish are big Patriots fans! We had some very happy kids this morning talking about the big win!

Mr. Fosher became a Grandpa last week for the first time. We are working on a class book to give to him!

Oh no! The groundhog saw his shadow on Monday morning! 6 more weeks of winter!
We had fun making our snowman glyphs last week!

We started our math scrolls last week! This helps with number writing and understanding place value! The kids are hoping to get to the thousands!
