I hope the end of the school year has not been too crazy and hectic for your family. We have been busy like bees in the starfish classroom. It feels like each school day flies by faster than the day before. We have so many exciting projects and activities going on and I'm impressed with the children's stamina and excitement as we close out the school year.
We had a great Grandparent's Luncheon on Monday. Thank you so much for the organization on your end to make the morning so special for our first graders. They enjoyed sharing their classroom and school with their favorite Grandparents! I wish that I had pictures to share with all of you but I forget all about the camera during our Grandparents share! Sorry! :(
I'm sure your child has been telling you about the exciting dinosaur lessons that Mr. Fosher has been doing with the first grade classes. It has been exciting for the kids to watch their principal teach them about dinosaurs. We have been learning with the Seal and Lobster class in a large group! Ask your child what they have learned so far during the fun activities with Mr. Fosher!
Thank you so much for all the donations for the First Grade Mall. It is an Annual First Grade tradition to have the Mall where first graders buy items at all the first grade stores. This is a great experience because the kids take turns working their classroom's store and shopping at the variety of shops. This gives the kids 'real life' experience of handling money and money exchanges. Each class will set up two stores (our classroom will have a necklace boutique and a transportation store where we will sell toy cars, trains, planes, and buses! (This is a kid only event!)
Our First Grade field trip to New Castle Commons is on June 18th with a rain date of June 19th. This is always a special day to play, tide-pool, and picnic together. Everyone is invited for the whole day or for part of the day (whatever fits your schedule!) Siblings, etc., are all invited as well. We will leave school around 8:45 and arrive back by 2:30. But feel free to come for any part of the day. If you need directions to New Castle Commons, please feel free to email me. We always stop at "Lagos" Lone Oak for ice cream on the way home!
If you have not sent in the $1.00 for the First Grade Mall or the permission slip and money for the field trip, please remember to do so soon!!
We are so excited for field day tomorrow! It should be a great day for the whole school!
Thank you so much for your continued support!
