Dear
Starfish Families,
We
have had a great start to our week. The kids were so excited to see their friends
after a week away from one another! It
has been especially fun to find out what adventures Flat Stanley has been on
for the past couple of weeks. I can’t
thank you enough for helping us with this exciting class project. The letters and pictures we have received
have been wonderful. We do know that
many Flat Stanleys are still on their travels and we anxiously await to hear
more of his new adventures.
To recap
some of Flat Stanley’s travels thus far...
Flat
Stanley went to visit Adam’s family friend in his hometown of San Rafael,
California. Flat Stanley was able to
visit Adam’s old elementary school and even visit some of his old classmates.
Flat
Stanley went on an adventure with Quin’s mom to Beverly Hospital in Beverly, Massachusetts. He really enjoyed working with the patients! He
was even treated to a special lunch with Mrs. Wilbur at P.F. Changs Restaurant!
Stanley
went to visit Marcus’ aunt in Virginia and Washington D.C. Stanley went to
visit the White house, got to ride on a secret service car, and was even able
to meet his aunt’s 1st grade classroom in Virginia!
Stanley went to Rhys' old stomping grounds of San Diego, California. Stanley was able to see the Pacific Ocean and visit Rhys' old home in California!
Ava’s
Flat Stanley was lucky enough to go on two adventures. He first went to visit Ava’s grandparents who
spend their winters down in Florida. He
really enjoyed relaxing at the beach. So
much that he came back with Sunburn! This past weekend, the Cammarata family
brought Stanley to Olive Garden Restaurant in Newington. The staff at Olive Garden showed Stanley how
to cook in the kitchen, make the famous house salad, and taught Stanley how to
greet guests at the host stand!
Stanley
travelled to the Land down under to visit Ainsley’s family. It was very exciting for Flat Stanley to go
to school with Ainsley’s cousin who is a first grader in Australia!
Flat
Stanley went to visit the biggest country in Europe, Ukraine! He enjoyed his stay in the capital of Ukraine,
Kiev! Flat Stanley got to see some
beautiful views on his visit! What a beautiful country!
Flat
Stanley was very lucky to travel to Australia with Elyza’s family friend. He spent his time visiting the Opera House in
Sydney. He was able to go to a play and
even ride on the city’s train!
Stanley
traveled to Northern California to visit Cooper Fast’s Mima and Papa! Stanley felt quite small next to the Red Wood
trees he was able to see in Armstrong Woods, a State Park! He was also able to
see the Pacific Ocean but it was too cold for a swim!
We can't wait to hear more from Stanley's Adventures!
Thank you again! We have really enjoyed sharing our Stanley Adventures in our class!
Warmly,
Megan Murphy
