Dress up like a favorite book character!

Wacky Wednesday and More...

Today sure was a WaCkY WeDneSdaY!

We had fun trying to find all the things that were wacky in our room!  We found over 10 things WACKY!

Mr. Fosher came in today to share his book review of one of his favorite books of all time, Strega Nona!

The Starfish, Seal, and Lobster First Grade Classrooms Celebrate President's Day! You can check out your child's artwork near the gym and cafeteria! 

Read Across America, Book Swap, and Book Reviews

Another part of our celebration will be a book swap on Friday! Students are encouraged to bring in gently used books that they've already read or no longer read to swap for a "new" book! The swap will happen in our classroom on Friday, February 19th. Any books that are not chosen in the swap will be donated to a local charity.

Cat in the Hat Tuesday!

Teachers share their own book reviews! We have invited teachers in the Starfish classroom and other adults in the building to share some of their favorite books and book reviews they have written.  The kids are working this week on writing their own book reviews with partners on books they enjoy in our classroom!

Dear Starfish Families,

I hope you stayed warm with your families this past weekend.  We are hoping for some outdoor recess for the rest of the week here at school!  We celebrated 100th day of school and Valentine's Day in a big way last week.  We had lots of fun!

Fox in Sox Monday!

Check out these awesome 100 Day Posters! We had some great conversations about ways to make 10! 

 We made the Dragon from My Father's Dragon series as our second book celebration! The kids are excited to bring home their dragons tomorrow afternoon!

 We made Valentines for the homeless last week with our 3rd grade buddies! 

 We added two 100th Day songs to our Poem and Song Journals

 We enjoyed Mr. Johnson coming in to read some of their family favorite stories for Mystery Reader this afternoon!
